Hi there! I’m Patriot and  I’m ready to win your heart like a true little hero! I’m a 4-month-old Cattle Dog mix, about 25 lbs of puppy charm, rescued from Louisiana along with my mom, Poppet, and my brother (they’re looking for homes, too)!  

I’m a happy, playful, curious pup who loves everyone I meet including other dogs and children. Life is an adventure to me, whether I’m chasing toys, exploring new smells, or solving my next “mystery” (aka a puzzle toy). My foster says I’m super smart — I’ve mastered level 1–3 puzzle toys and even figured out how to jump the indoor fence. Don’t worry, I’m not trying to escape — I just want to be close to my people. I’m bold, observant, and full of energy, but I’ve also got a sweet and snuggly side. When I’m all tuckered out, I’ll curl right up next to you and sometimes flop on my back, belly-up, dreaming about my next adventure. I love belly rubs, ear scratches, and back-of-the-head rubs — that’s my sweet spot! I’m also learning quickly.  I can focus for about 30 minutes during training (pretty impressive, right?), and I’m super food-motivated, which means I’ll be a star student for snacks. With visual hand cues I know some basic commands: sit, stand, down, place, crate, touch, spin, stay (for about 30 seconds). I love to fetch… I just haven’t quite mastered the “bring it back” part yet. Baby steps!
