Hi… um… hi. I’m Charlie, a tiny, 20-lb, 1-year-old Chihuahua mix, and I’ve been practicing my “please notice me” look every single day. I’m gentle, a little goofy, and very, very hopeful that my person is out there somewhere.

I came here with my brother, Max. We were surrendered together and stayed side by side… until one day he got adopted. I watched him walk out the door, happy and loved, and I wagged my tail for him, even though I stayed behind. I’m still waiting at the kennel for my own foster or forever home, believing my turn is coming soon.

I’m a lap dog in every sense of the word. If you sit down, I will carefully curl up and melt right into you. Belly scratches are one of my favorite things, and I’ll gladly trade kisses for them. I can get the zoomies when I’m feeling extra happy, but I’m also perfectly content being carried around in your arms like I belong there, because honestly, I do.

I get along well with people, other dogs, and I have even lived with cats before! I’m affectionate, silly, and love being close to my humans. My only downfall is that I can be loud when I see other dogs out and about, so I need to be taught  how to work on this!
